A Musical on the Horizons
By CAEDMON SETHUPATHY
The IHS musical production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid debuts in just a few weeks! The Drama Club has partnered with the IHS Orchestra and Band to create a pit orchestra, acting cast, and tech support for the four performances to be given between March 31 and April 2. The seventeen unique roles include Ariel, King Triton, and Flounder: characters many will remember from their childhood. For those who are unfamiliar with the story, The Little Mermaid follows an underwater princess’s (Ariel) impossible love for a human prince and her quest to pursue him. This same musical as a JR. version is also being produced by the local youth theater company, Running to Places, and will be performed on April 15 and 16.
