And then it stopped.
The mind slowly fading,
The heart not palpitating.
And then he went.
His body destroyed,
His fall from grace was his choice.
And then he fell,
From towers on earth,
To the treasures of hell.
And then he wept,
Burning in fire,
Forever tired.
And then he came,
The devil himself.
The demons of darkness swelled.
The fiery touch of the sins of the dead,
Did wash down the falls in a bath of red.
And then he struggled,
The demon both inside and out,
The flesh eating maggots of hate and self-doubt.
He fell down further still, not knowing direction,
Watching his soul decay from deception.
And then he landed,
On the banks of a shore,
A shore long forgotten,
Indeed never told.
For the mind can’t imagine a place such as this,
A dragon’s abode,
A beach of black coal.
And then he saw light,
Like God from above.
And then he saw mercy,
He even saw love.
He saw the gates open and as Revelation proclaims,
The doors of the almighty cannot be chained.
