WINNER: Come On, People!
By LOUISA MILLER-OUT
A virus is running amok
Yet our government seems to be stuck
How long will it be
Till they wake up and see
That they can’t just keep testing their luck?
They manage to block out the cries
The wool is still over their eyes
With their heads in the sand
They’re not taking a stand
How can grown adults be so unwise?

Writer’s Block
By ALICE HU
There once was a pen that never worked
It was glad that its duties were shirked
It was so pleased
That it started to bleed
Which made its owner call it a jerk.
The Nature of Time
By BELLA HU
As I watch every year go by
Faster and faster I must say goodbye
And store in my memory
My life as a documentary
Because time passes in the blink of an eye.
Happy Ides!
By ANYA KRAMER

Who was an ambitious old geezer
His invasion of Gaul
Was astounding to all
And those stab wounds made him quite a wheezer

By ALICE HU
Stage 1 of senioritis is light
Where there is still a touch of fright.
Stage 2 comes on in a hurry
Where your focus starts getting blurry
And by stage 3 your brain will have seen its last daylight.

Or perhaps you’d like a bunny?
In fact, whatever you do,
I’ll brew you some beef stew,
But then again, bribes are always ugly.
