Statement from the Editorial Board

In recent weeks, the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others have sparked protests throughout the United States. The Tattler Editorial Board fully supports the Black Lives Matter movement and stands with the victims of police brutality. We admire those who have protested, donated money, signed petitions, and spoken out; we encourage each member of the IHS community to do the same. Ithaca is commonly referred to as “10 square miles surrounded by reality” but our community is not exempt from racism and discrimination. We hope that each and every one of you is doing everything in your power to fight against systemic racism and we encourage non-Black members of the IHS community to reflect on and address personal biases and the racism displayed in our community.
