As September rolls around, it’s time to get back on the study grind that you’ve gotten to avoid for the past two months. While the start of a new school year after summer can be difficult, there’s something comforting about settling into a study rhythm. And what better way to ease into the study grind than with the perfect playlist? These songs are sure to boost your productivity (or they’ll at least make the eight-hour study sessions more bearable).
“The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson:
There’s nothing like listening to Michael Jackson playing in the background while you work through some incredibly mundane busywork for your English class. Something about this song’s groovy beat and sporadic ad-libs make it perfect for a dance party… I mean, study session.
“B2b” by Charli xcx:
Brat summer is over, but brat autumn is just getting started. This electropop tune is not only one of the most underrated songs on the BRAT album, but it’s a perfect reminder that you need to get back, back, back to work.
“After Midnight” by Chappell Roan:
Another underrated song from a popular album, “After Midnight” will have you bopping your head while powering through your ridiculously long assignments. This song is also perfect if you’re staying up past midnight to cram for an exam!
“JOLENE” by Beyoncé:
Although Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” will always be a classic, Beyoncé’s feminist revamp of the song is utter genius. The song’s soulful melody paired with Beyoncé’s vocals will provide an extra boost of energy just as you’re about to burn out from your truckload of homework.
“XS” by Rina Sawayama:
If you’re drowning in an XS-ive amount of work (see what I did there?), “XS” is the best song to play while you get through your hardest assignments. The flirty, high-energy tune will make even the most tedious work seem like a breeze (or just tolerable, at the very least.).
By the time you’ve finished reading this, it’s high time to get back to studying. Make yourself a cup of tea, put on your headphones, and get to work!
