The enduring climb
is a fight to the death
With ascendance
comes loss of breath, billowing flames
in the gullet of the mountain
Yet with no oxygen the peak lies ashen
Still I rise,
voice unfurling like petals of a daisy
undressing to the sun
No longer stifled,
soaring soul ignites, takes flight
Through ashes of apprehension
my powerful breath blows them into the ether
