Night Town Sarah Palmer-Jackson

It was 12am when the bells rang

A dark and heavy sound reverberated through the small town

Night town

Night town was always dark and the ring of the bells didn’t signify a new day

The bells succeeded in rattling the souls of the towners

They awoke from a pointless slumber

Their eyelids twitched rhythmically

They went to sleep once again

Goodnight

Although in their dreams

They knew they would still hear the bells
