February marks the month of love! As heart-shaped items in vibrant shades of red, pink, and white fill the shelves of stores, you’ll probably ponder what you should be gifting, your partner friends, or even yourself. Here are some of our opinions on these Valentine’s-themed gifts.
Boxes of Chocolates
Connie: Chocolates are a classic but you really can’t go wrong with them (unless the person doesn’t like chocolate). Chocolates are are also simple to make at home, which lets you add a personal touch to them. Worst case scenario, you can just eat them yourself along with any on-sale leftovers afterwards!
Mia: A simple, fun, and tasty treat! Whether it’s for a valentine, galentine, or palentine; anyone on the receiving end is sure to smile with this gift! Even if they don’t like chocolate, they should at least appreciate the fact that it comes in a nicely packaged embellishment. If anyone for some crazy reason rejects such a gift it’s their loss; snatch the box back and keep all the chocolates to yourself.
Flowers
Connie: Flowers are always cute! Store-bought bouquets are nice but there’s so much more you can do to customize. Paper flowers (origami, paper mache, tissue paper, etc.) are a more time consuming but cheaper (assuming you’re not using expensive paper of course) option. You could also make your own floral arrangements if you have the money and aesthetic sense. Fill it with your recipient’s favorite flowers and show them how much you care!
Mia: You could never go wrong with a bouquet of flowers. If you really want to go outside of the box, make paper flowers to ensure that the gift lasts well beyond Valentine’s day.
Chocolate-Covered Strawberries
Connie: It’s like a box of chocolates but better! You can balance out how heavy chocolate can be with the freshness of fruit. If your recipient doesn’t like strawberries, just swap the fruit out for a different option (surely there’s at least one fruit they don’t mind). Store-bought is always a safe option but these aren’t hard to make at home either and can make for a great bonding experience.
Mia: An underrated, but delicious classic! These tend to cost more than they should at stores, but are a fun treat to make with your valentine or your friends! This could make a great Valentine’s activity that’s fun, easy, and tasty!
Handmade gift
Connie: I love handmade gifts! They’re really customized and can show just how much thought you’ve put into them. The more memories you have together the better! Bring out old photos or quotes, and maybe reminisce on the past whilst holding your wishes for the future!
Mia: A more meaningful and personalized gift option. Regardless of your crafting expertise, they will enjoy it, and it’s the thought that counts!
Basket Assortment
Connie: I didn’t actually know what these were until I searched them up but they seem similar to handmade gifts. Though in this case it’s a large hand picked basket of your recipient’s favorite things from candy to clothes to maybe even merchandise. This definitely seems on the pricier side but if paired well with a nice handmade card it really shows your appreciation. Mia: This gift is likely to take a good amount of time, money, and thought to prepare, but is sure to be appreciated! I think this could be a really good gift for a Valentine or a loved one. To make it extra aesthetic, give it a theme, and add gifts accordingly.
We covered just a few Valentine’s-themed gift options but there’s so many other possibilities that you could come up with. We hope we’ve at least given some inspiration on what you could give to the important person in your life this February and we wish you the best of luck in your Valentine’s endeavors!
