“Doin’ Time” by Sublime: One of the quintessential chill bands, Sublime achieved a near-perfect groove in this frequently covered track.
“That’s The Way I Like It” by Spin Doctors, Biz Markie, and Tommy Chong: A hilarious cover of a classic track, which is unironically a jam!
“Perfect Day” by Kelis: This underrated, futuristic rock/rap jam from the millennium was a throwaway track from No Doubt, and features classic production from The Neptunes.
“Prototype” by Outkast: Andre 3000 showcases his genre-bending ingenuity in this laid-back groove.
“I Felt Stupid” by The Drums: This laid-back earworm is a hidden gem, from the late 2000s.
“Dreaming” by Mac DeMarco: This is an out-of-this-world track by a down-to-earth musician, featuring soothing riffs.
“3005” by Childish Gambino: Most students reading The Tattler are familiar with this track—however, I still want to reiterate how excellent this jam is!
“Python” by Miguel: A modern soul savant gives his all in this electric groove.
“Airplane Tickets” by Pharrell Williams, Swae Lee, and Rauw Alejandro: Listen to this incredibly laid-back track if you’re planning trips for the break.
“THOUGHT YOU WERE THE ONE” by Tommy Richman: This futuristic track from the mind behind “MILLION DOLLAR BABY” is reminiscent of the bittersweet end of the summer break, when your fun in the sun is over, but possibilities for the upcoming school year seem limitless.
