Behold! O’ lost soul,
The finest Cavalier,
Who has so many lives stole,
And spread such death and fear,
Behold its ebon armor,
And ‘low its carmine steed,
And on it painted blood and gore,
And in it hateful creed,
Those it kills fight for greater cause,
Or perhaps merely glee,
But under its serrated claws,
All those dreading pay its fee.
It crushes hope on blasted moors,
And the peace its ilk abhor,
spreads discord and kills soldiers,
That vile knight named War.
