Her golden fleece does shimmer in the light
A song of joy with drooping doggy face
For Mele is a song of pure delight
She greets us at the door with bounding grace
She runs downstairs, with a whimper and cry
Though gone just one short hour from her sight
And asks for all our love before we die
Her tail will wag in circles, pure delight
Beneath the table, patient she will lay
A drool bomb and her face upon your knee
She waits for morsels to fall every day
A humble beggar, loyal as can be
Yet truth be told she’d give this love away
To anyone who’d feed her in the day
