Little blue boy,
I have always liked brown
Chocolate eyes or the dirt on my shoes
I feel your weight on my chest
It envelops me
I cannot breathe
For you have taken the air from my lungs
And stripped my soul of its steel shell
Worn so tight not even those closest haven’t broken it
Except for you
little blue boy
You crawl inside and i can taste your sweat as you try to rewire me
And i am so in love
With you, little blue boy
But your heart doesn’t beat for me
or any other
When you gaze upon your reflection you do not like what you see
you think youre unworthy
oh how wrong you are, little blue boy
So i push and I pull
because maybe its me
Maybe i am the cause
Maybe I am unworthy
But my efforts are to no avail
you cannot love me
if you don’t first love yourself
little blue boy
but we try and try
and in our trying i grow weary
i cannot battle every day
my armor is rusting
and i can’t seem to remember the way i loved you before
little blue boy
the bright green of you eyes no longer invites
like the brown that i love
it feels like fire when we kiss
burning everything slowly
killing me slowly
little blue boy, i cannot burn any longer
cannot set myself on fire so you can glow
and like your reflection
so you can feel my heat against your skin and let me warm you so you do not have to
little blue boy
