Texas Roadhouse is a well-known restaurant chain that is thriving in the United States, and it even has locations around the world! It just so happens that Ithaca has a piece of this large franchise, and on a Sunday afternoon in March, I went there with my family to have lunch. I’ll go through what I observed at our local Texas Roadhouse that day.
When I walked in, Texas Roadhouse made a good first impression. There was a nice atmosphere inside with people who were happy, smiling, and talking. The decorations were creative and those, along with the aesthetic design, definitely gave the restaurant a “roadhouse” feel. Even though I was quite far from home, the restaurant came close to feeling just as comfortable. As country music played constantly throughout the restaurant and all sorts of sports were broadcasted on TVs at the bar, I knew I was surrounded by pleasant energy.
My family’s waitress was also great. Making sure to keep a smile, she was nice, upbeat, didn’t look stressed at all, and seemed to like she knew what she was doing. She wasn’t the only happy employee there, as everyone was cheerful and seemed to find happiness in what they were doing.
Now to review the most important part: the food. Right off the bat, Texas Roadhouse provides bread and peanuts on the house. The bread was absolutely perfect. Perfectly sweet and moist, it melts in your mouth. With butter, the bread was even better. I could eat that bread all day. The peanuts were great too, well-salted and filled with flavor. The restaurant visit was already great, and it was only beginning.
In terms of food options, there is a wide selection with something for everyone. They don’t have just a single option. They have cheeseburgers, salads, and even a kid’s menu. That way, anyone can get a meal that they like. There are also good selections of both appetizers and drinks.
I will be reviewing my meal: a cheeseburger with fries. The food was very rich and had a great taste. It wasn’t completely like a homemade meal, but it came close. It was also very filling, to the point where I couldn’t finish it, which is good for people who come to restaurants with a big appetite. The fries were thick-cut. I prefer thin ones, but everyone has their own opinion, so those who like thick fries would enjoy that side. The fries were golden yellow, and well-spiced, so I think they were worth eating. Everyone else in my family also enjoyed their meals.
I have even more praise for Texas Roadhouse. When my family was leaving the restaurant, the employees took note of us walking out and made sure to say goodbye to my family with a smile. Again, the employees and staff had great energy throughout the afternoon, and they were part of making the visit worth it.
In the end, Texas Roadhouse is a great restaurant with great food, a lively atmosphere, sports games of all kinds, and everybody happy and smiling. For me, it was definitely worth the visit. What I would really recommend is to eat as much of the on-the-house bread as you can, because it is delicious, and enjoy the country feeling as you are there. Texas Roadhouse makes sure that you feel welcomed as you eat great food and can have a fun afternoon or evening out. If you have nothing to do on a weekend afternoon and you’re hungry, I definitely recommend you come party down to Texas Roadhouse with some friends. It will be an experience that is worthy and unforgettable.
