Griffin’s Take:
No doubt about it, this is one of the finest science fiction films of all time. The combination of an interesting plot, stunning cinematography, and good acting allows this movie to not only create a narrative but make a world and pull you into it. The themes in this movie of mortality and life are relatable and compelling, and the dialogue is spectacular. This movie left me with a feeling of pure joy knowing that I had just watched one of the finest movies I’ve ever seen. It’s too bad this movie isn’t longer. But then again, what movie is? 10/10.
Hugo’s Review:
Blade Runner is one of the most fundamental and essential science fiction movies ever made. It’s loosely based on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. What makes this movie special is its ability to enthrall you: the world that you are thrown into is bleak and interesting. The main character, Rick Deckard, is played by Harrison Ford who does a great job in this role. The special effects are slightly outdated but impressive for the time. The story is great, the setting and environment is a character of its own, and it will leave a lasting impression on you, making you wonder what is real and what is not. Although some aspects of the film are a little outdated, the experience is still one to remember. 9/10
